TEACHER'S DAY 2011
Teachers are second parents and parents are second teachers .Teachers in Abhyasa always play parental role feeling it as their responsibility but not duty. "A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image" is the philosophy in which Abhyasa always believes in.
Teachers are always given the highest priority at Abhyasa as the teachers at Abhyasa feel that their students are their banks to deposit their knowledge. The splendid celebrations of teacher's day at Abhyasa started with the traditional "Paadapuja" being offered to the Teachers in amphitheatre at 8 a.m. In Sanskrit "GU" means "Agnana" and "RU" means "to remove", so Guru always illuminates his students with his knowledge and in the same process he also learns more. Abhyasa Teachers are always on this task and they work for the overall development of the students as per the vision and mission of Abhyasa. Abhyasa students did Paada Pooja to their teachers and administrative staff members showing their love and gratitude for the love and concern shown towards them by the Abhaysa staff. Those were the most happiest moments for Gurus and precious moments for students as they expressed their love and concern to each other. Founder principal Sri Vinaayaka Kalleetla honoured his teacher and present in-charge Principal Mrs.Murthy being an icon of Abhyasa students.
Those emotional moments were followed by honoring the teachers in Priyanka's Playpen by Principal with gifts. Each and every staff member was honoured. Mr.VInayak and Mrs.Murthy honored them with flowers and gifted them with clothes following the tradition of Abhyasa. At the end of the session Mr.Vinayak was blessed by his adored teacher and advisor Mrs.Murthy with flowers and new clothes.
"It doesn't matter what a teacher teaches but it matters what he is. The communication between the student and the teacher serves as a connection between the two, which provides a better atmosphere for a classroom environment and the teacher student relationship is very important for children. Children spend approximately 5 to 7 hours a day with a teacher for almost 10 months. We ask ourselves what is considered to be a good teacher. All of us have gone through schooling, and if fortunate had a favorite teacher. A positive relationship between the student and the teacher is difficult to establish, but can be found for both individuals at either end. The qualities for a positive relationship can vary to set a learning experience approachable and inviting the students to learn. A teacher and student who have the qualities of good communications, respect in a classroom, and show interest in teaching from the point of view of the teacher and learning from a student will establish a positive relationship in the classroom" said Mr.Vinaayaka Kalleetla during his speech to the students.
Exiting part of the day was the different cultural activities started at 9.30 a.m. Teachers were entertained by the games conducted by the students for them. Programme was finished by 10.30a.m.and students were sent to milk break. In this memorable occasion everyone should once commit to memory of Dr.Sarveypalli Radha Krishnan, the former president of India on whose birth day The Teachers day is established and being celebrated in India.
