(Celebrating the Birth Anniversary of Sir Baden Powell)

On the occasion of World Thinking Day on February 22nd, the birthday of the founder of the worldwide Scouts & Guides movement Late Sir Baden Powell, 44 Scouts and 16 Guides from classes 6th and 7th have successfully participated in Scouts & Guides (S&G) Outdoor Cooking camp in the outskirts of Toopran @ Kistapur Village, 5kms away from our school campus.

The Scouts & Guides started from the school at 9.30am, they all trekked to the camp spot carrying food, raw materials for cooking the food, vessels and other kitchen items. The place was very adventurous where Scouts & Guides participated in various adventure activities such as rock climbing, nature study, fun games etc.

Soon after we reached the spot, the Scouts & Guides swept the cooking area & made the place neat & clean, they brought drinking water from a nearby bore-well, washed all the vessels, the Guides participated actively by cutting vegetables & cooking. (Rice, Vegetable curry & Dal). Even our Mr. Pavan Kumar Naidu (RM) lent his hand by supervising the children in cooking & other related arrangements.

The theory session included a quick brief of the Pravesha & Pratham Sopan, learning different types of knots (reef, bowline, clove hitch, timber hitch, fisherman's knot), Creative Thinking, the importance of having running notes & benefits of being a Scout/Guide.

We exited from the venue by walk & reached our school by 4:30pm.The children were visibly enlightened & afresh with rejuvenation after the completion of the camp as it was a very memorable experience for them.

Scout Masters accompanying the children were: Mr.Rajeshwar Manne, Christopher Vinod, Mr. Abhishek & Ms.Radha was the stand-in Guide Captain.
