ABHYASA CELEBRATES THE SUCCESS OF ITS LAD… 'In pursuit of passion' Book - Mr.M.R.S.K.Chaitanya
It will always be news for a mother when she discovers her son blowing his own guns for a good cause and gets recognition for the same!!! Yes…Abhyasa has tasted the same joy when one Abhyasite Mr.M.R.S.K.Chaitanya released a book by name “In Pursuit of Passion”. The book was released at Hotel Marriott, Hyderabad on 16th June 2010 by the Honorable Speaker of the AP state Assembly. The book, featuring 50 eminent personalities of Andhra Pradesh, is brought out by the ‘Passionate’, an NGO, that has a team of students, pursuing graduation from various colleges in the city. Respected Founder – Principal, Sree Vinaayaka Kalleetla, is one of the 50 eminent personalities featured in this book. Abhyasa School as an institute, also has been recognized for its efforts in serving the community.
Abhyasa foresees a potential political leader in Mr.M.R.S.K.Chaitanya, who has been very committed for serving the community since his school days. Speaking on the occasion, Sree Prabhakar Rao, IPS, Chairman – Board Of Governors, Abhyasa, has praised Abhyasa for her committed efforts to imbue the attitude of Community Service in students at a very early age. He also praised Abhaysa for her curriculum which helps in the all round development of a student. He also said that Mr.M.R.S.K.Chaitanya would be a successful political leader in the coming future.
Assembly Speaker, Mr.N.Kiran Kumar Reddy welcomed the participation of youth in politics even while cautioning them that it was not an easy game. Mr. Reddy said getting into politics is not all about running for elections, and that money and inheritance alone can’t sustain one in the field for long. “It has been 20 years since I entered politics, and the field has changed so much that sometimes I keep wondering why I chose it,” he said in a reflective mood. He, nevertheless, encouraged and invited youth into politics which he described as an “adults only” game.
Founder secretary of the Passionate Foundation Mr.M.R.S.K. Chaitanya underscored the need for the increased presence of youth in community circles. He also thanked Abhyasa for all the grooming that he went through during his school days. The event also had celebrities in attendance such as actor Bhumika Chawla, Deputy Speaker Manohar Nadendla and badminton player P. Gopichand among others.
OBITUARY Miss Natasha Flason
Miss Natasha Flason joined Abhyasa in the year 1996 in class eight, the very year of Abhyasa’s inception. Natasha was an all-rounder – good at academics, creative writing, art, singing and dance too! A voracious reader, Natasha, wrote excellent essays. She was always soft-spoken and caring. She was popular amongst all the juniors as she related to them well. ‘A French National with Indian Culture’, is how we can describe Natasha. She always made it a point to visit her alma mater whenever she visited India. She loved to be amongst small children and whenever she visited school, she would request to permit her to narrate stories to them. She passed out of the portals of Abhyasa in the year 2000-the first ICSE batch.
She had taken up various assignments in her professional career and she was a self-reliant and Self-made person. After many trials and tribulations in her life, she had found the placement she was looking for. She was the executive assistant to Ken Talbot, Australia’s mining tycoon.
Just when things were looking up for Natasha, a tragedy occurred in the form of a plane crash on 21st June 2010. She was travelling in a chartered flight from Younde with fellow Sundance Resources staff and all the eleven persons died.
Natasha will always remain in the hearts of all Abhyasites forever.
MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.

As Mary during Christmas programme.

All Round Personality Development
Mr Talbot was on the chartered flight from Yaounde with fellow Sundance Resources staff chairman Geoff Wedlock, chief executive Don Lewis, directors Craig Oliver and John Jones, company secretary John Carr-Gregg and Executive Assistant Natasha Flason.
The aircraft had been chartered by Western Australian-based mining company Sundance Resources for a tour of its Mbalam iron ore project in northwest Congo-Brazzaville.
THE devastated family and friends of French-born Natasha Flason will remember her for her generosity, beauty and personal strength.
Ken Talbot, when their plane plunged into a jungle in west Africa, killing all on board.
The 26-years old personal assistant was travelling with the Sundance Resources board and her boss, Queensland mining magnate Ken Talbot, when their plane plunged into a jungle in west Africa, killing all on board. In a statement yesterday, Ms Flason’s family said her death as “almost impossible to believe”.

“She was known among her friends as a beautiful, loving, intelligent and generous person, with huge conviction for personal growth and the strength to overcome adversity,” the statement said. ” Natasha Flason lived all over the world and enjoyed immersing herself in new cultures.” The young woman’s vibrancy and zest for life was shared by her younger sister, Tatiana, an aspiring model and entrant in last year’s Miss Universe Australia pageant. In honour of her lost sister, the 21-year-old yesterday posted a photograph of the two beauties on her Facebook page. The 26-year-old began working for Mr Talbot just a few months ago. Fluent in English, French and Italian, she had also acted as the group’s interpreter during their mission.
The family also noted Ms Flason’s reputation as an “extremely hard worker”.
“She excelled in her studies and loved literature and art,” the statement said. “Natasha worked for Ken Talbot as his personal representative. They had an excellent professional relationship in which Ken Talbot acted as a mentor to Natasha. She was an aspiring young executive who planned to study at Harvard.”
Friends have also established an online memorial on Facebook to share their grief. Sabine Steffen wrote how impressed she was meeting Ms Flasonfor the first time the day before the group’s Africa mission. “(She was) an outstanding young woman, she will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.”
Ms Flason moved from Paris to the Gold Coast suburb of Nerang with her family in 2004. She is survived by her partner Rene, mother Irene and sister Tatiana. Her father died when Ms Flason was younger.
Ice Breaking Function & Investiture Ceremony
Ice Breaking Function…
What is life without a friend? Abhyasa always believes in demonstrating its values through all the activities that run on the campus. One of such programmes that were conducted was the Breaking the Ice Programme. All the new students are attached with buddies so that they are acclimatized to the life, systems and rules at Abhyasa. Under the supervision of Activity Management Team, all the senior students have done a magnificent job to entertain the new entrants. There were dances that rocked the stage, songs that stimulated the hearts and what not… the new entrants had enjoyed them forgetting the pain of their separation from their parents. Lots of joy, smiles and love spread over the campus with consoling and budding friendships. Principal addressed all the parents who are new to Abhyasa and had explained about Abhyasa’s way of educating the children. Following are the glimpses of the event…

The Chief Guest addressed the students on being honest and offering prayers to be successful. The Question and Answer session which followed the oath taking ceremony was the most interesting session of the day. Hail Mr.Subramanyam, he was patient enough to attend and to answer all the questions raised by the students. Guess what followed…. The most delicious event of the day… The cake cutting… on the event of 15th birth anniversary of Abhyasa. The chief guest of the day, Mr.Subramanyam was requested to cut the cake. The last performance of the day was the dance performance by the Boys which was a very attractive performance. The programme ended with the National Anthem.

Let us have a look at the glimpses of the Vaangmayaananda Hela…
Medical Camp
THE FIRST MEDICAL CAMP OF THE YEAR 2010-2011
“Vaidyo Naaraayano Hari” – It is the doctor that saves the human body from any ailments and he is like GOD. As it is rightly said in Bhagawad Gita, a human who serves the society for a right cause is the real personification of GOD – and this attitude of serving is inculcated at Abhyasa at a very tender age to students through “ARPAN” – the grama seva programme. On 18-07-2010, Abhyasa had conducted a medical camp as part of its “ARPAN” programme that served the real cause of many a poor people in around Toopran. The programme was initiated by Mrs.Veena Venugopal, Vice-Principal Academics by lighting the lamp. Many Dentists, Cardiologists and other specialists attended the camp to provide free diagnosis and advice. The programme was held the Geeta Mandir, the temple of Lord Krishna which is situated, opposite Abhyasa main gate. Many people attended the programme and got benefit out of the camp. Thanks to all the specialists who made their time and came down all the way to Toopran to serve the needy. It is the same spirit that runs the humanity.
Below mentioned is the list of all the specialists who served the poor and need on behalf Abhyasa on 18-07-2010.
Delicious lunch was served to all the guests at the “Aahara”, the dining hall of Abhyasa. The student committees of Gram Seva and Spirituality Management in coordination with the Activity and Discipline Management teams have shown Great Spirit to see that the camp is run successfully.
Horlicks WizKids
Have you ever experienced being rocked with fun? Have you ever felt your soul getting keyed up for the results? Have you ever checked into the place where there is a healthy friction between energies and competencies? All the tiny tots and mighty lots of Abhyasa have gone through this powerful experience at “Sree Satya Sai Nigamaagamam”, Hyderabad during 27th and 28th of July 2010. It was a festive occasion for the all students of 95 schools that participated in various events. The energy was at its peak, the vibe was ecstatic and the noise shook the usually quiet environs of Satya Sai Nigamagam which was literally transformed into a Roman coliseum on Tuesday. Over 8,000 students from about 95 schools gathered at the venue, pitting their talents against each other at the Horlicks Wiz Kids 2010 by Krayon, which is claimed to be the country’s biggest interschool fete. Students competed in over 30 different competitions which tested their skills in music, literature, dance, singing, writing, speaking, talent, art and design. The events also included story writing, quiz, still photography and Wizkids tweet, where students had to upload creative tweets and selected tweets were displayed on stage.
The fun had begun on the campus of Abhyasa before a week in advance. The Activity Manager, Master Vivek Nair and the School Captain Master Kranti Kumar with all their team members chalked out the road map to achieve the Overall Championship at this activity over a month in advance.. It was a great effort put up by the team. For all the events, interested students were given a chance and the best were selected to represent the school. The efforts were meticulous as the guidance from the teacher in -charges was very meticulous. Everyone, from their souls and hearts wanted to win the Overall Championship for 2010. Colours flew, Music spread its fragrance, the rehearsals on stage at the Play Pen were serious , while the Katyas Korner stood silently witnessing the amount of hard work put in by the students.
As the day reached, all the selected Abhyasites reached Sree Satya Sai Nigamaagamam in three buses. Thanks to Mrs.Bhogra, the parent of Master Vishesh Bhogra who supported with the school authorities for accommodating the students to get made-up for various events. It was a great sign to see all the Abhyasites cheering at each and every winner, irrespective of whoever it was. All the students were felicitated with mints and mineral water for better quality of cheering. It was the ‘noise with a purpose’ from students that shook the auditorium.
The first half of the 27th was slightly disappointing as the results of the events were unfavorable. All the students were motivated and they too, did not lose their hearts, but they had put in extra efforts and pulled out results in other events. The Day 1, ended with some hopes. On the Day 2, it was Miss Vaishnavi who rose to the occasion who came out as the “Speaker of the Year 2010” in the Horlicks Activity. The words blazed and competition was won by Abhyasa. Followed by the event, Style Act, the performance of Abhyasa was unique was applauded tremendously by everybody. Thanks to our creative Principal Mr. Vinayak for his idea and the fine-tuning of the choreography by Mr. Sandeep from Pune that Abhyasa won the secnd place… The efforts invested in other events also fetched positive results and slowly the number of wins started growing. By the end of the day, the atmosphere was quite gripping, as Abhyasa with its limited number of students gave a tough competition to all the existing schools. End of the day, Abhaysa bagged many awards and had a thrilling win of being the OVERALL CHAMPIONS-Runners Up ,of the Horlicks Activity 2010. Abhyasa stood just a point away to the Overall Championship.
It was a great effort by all the teacher in-charges, student coordinators and the students. The true result of team work was experienced by Team Abhyasa.
Well friends, all is well that ends well… this experience made all the Abhyasites more powerful in many aspects of learning and managing the events. It is definitely another great memory for Abhyasa and others, to cherish .

The First Parent Teacher Interaction 2010
As ‘Will Durant’ rightly said “Education is the transmission of Civilization” – all the parents would like to know their wards’ progress in getting transformed as better civilians. It has been a practice at Abhyasa that a centralized platform is arranged for the parents, teachers, students and the administrators to meet and communicate about the development of the kids and the system. The same has been practiced on 15‐08‐2010, the 63rd independence day of India. The new science block echoed with the national anthem once the Respected Principal hoisted the national flag. After the heartfelt presentations during the Independence Day celebrations, the letter of Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam addressing fellow Indians was presented in an excellent manner by Mrs.Veena Venugopal, Vice‐Principal (Administration) which inspired and touched many hearts Team Abhyasa was immediately ready for the first parent teacher interaction of the year 2010. It was engaged for 2 days. On 14.08.2010 it was held between 02.30 to 05.30 p.m and on 15.08.2010 it was held between 11.00 am to 5.00 pm. All the queries of the parents were answered. As it is rightly said, “Learning is the real meaning of Educating”, there were many points to learn for Team Abhyasa, which would enhance the quality of teaching.
Krishnaashtami
“Paritranaya Saadhoonam, Vinasayacha Dushkrutaam, Dharma Samsthapanaardhaaya Sambhavaami Yuge Yuge..” said the Geetaachaarya in The Bhagavat Geeta. Thank to the Hindu culture that has spread a message that God exists anywhere and everywhere. We celebrated the Master’s birthday on 02.09.2010 to recall his teachings and set our ways and means of living in a right manner. We always try to follow the teachings of the Geetaachaarya and live a peaceful and purposeful life. It was another multicoloured day in the history of Abhyaasa. It was the Krushnaastami, the birthday of the Geetaachaarya. Abhyasa family had celebrated the event in a very religious manner. The efforts of the petite hands were quick and loo… there stood the Lord Krushna being decorated and placed royally in the Play Pen. The programme started with students explaining the importance of Krushnaastami – along with the values portrayed by the God during avatar of Krushna. Melodious Annamachaarya kritis were sung by the students which mesmerized the audience. The Lord should have definitely enjoyed the Jhoola song sung by the Abhyasa family. The tiny tots danced to the tunes of daandiya to entertain the Little Krushna. Followed by the Jhoola sevva for cute Krishna, all the students enjoyed rocking the traditionally decorated cradle. There were little kids who were dressed up as Krishna, dancing and playing. Sumptuous dinner followed…
The Jubiliant Abhyasites at the ICSE & ISC Regional Sports Meet 2010
There are certain possessions in life which will enhance the quality of one’s life. This should happen to everyone since their childhood. There are very few schools that offer these experiences with commitment. Abhyasa has proved that it is second to none in providing quality education and all round personality development by giving her best to her wards in various fields. One of them is Sports.
Abhyasa won the Overall Championship at the AP Regional ICSE and ISC sports meet and none could stop Abhyasites’ determination to win this championship – not even the weather. The tracks were wet, skidding, filled with puddles of water. They braved all odds as the spirit of the Abhyasites was high to make things happen for them. They rose to the occasion and brought laurels to their Alma Mater.
The team left for the sports meet conducted by the Association of ICSE & ISC Schools, A.P. Region, Hyderabad hosted by Sreenidhi International School and Sujatha School between 25th and 31st August 2010 wherein 29 boys and 19 girls represented Abhyasa at the meet.
The meet which kicked off on 25th August was concluded on 31.08.2010 at RRC Grounds Secunderabad. The annual meet was contested by 29 schools out of 110 ICSE and ISC Schools in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The event was contested by 1319 students in both Senior and junior categories respectively, by boys and girls. The competition was held in 16 Track and Field Events in Athletics, Swimming and Basket Ball. An encouraging number of 47 teams participated in the Basket Ball Tournament. 153 students participated in the swimming events and 602 in athletic events.
The showers which are always welcoming brought about disappointment to the Athletes on the first day. The tracks were not friendly and tested the real sportsman spirit of the participants. The first day was not very rewarding for the Abhyasites as we could bag only 4 medals. But day two started with renewed hope and Abhyasa struck gold in the very first event‐5km walk for senior boys. It was indeed a moment of great pride when the School Captain master Kranthi Kumar secured gold in all the four track and field events with immense confidence to become the fastest runner of the meet and also bag the coveted INDIVIDUAL CHAMPONSHIP.
Abhyasa won Ten Gold, Four Silver and Seventeen Bronze Medals in track and field events. The boys won gold medals in High‐Jump, 100 meters, 200 meters relay, Triple Jump, Javelin. The four silver medals won in High jump, Javelin, two silver medals in Shot‐put. Seven of its students selected to play on behalf of A.P team at National Basket Ball Championship to be held in October in Kolkata.
Mrs. Banda Karthika Chandra Reddy, Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation graced as Chief Guest and gave away trophies and medals. Speaking on the occasion she said participating is more important than winning.
For more details of the success story‐ In Swimming both Junior and Senior Boys Categories Abhyasa School boys declared Overall Champions, declared winners of ICSE Basket ball and the runners of ISC Basket Ball event , overall winners of the swimming events. As many as 15 students from Abhyasa got selected for the Nationals to represent Andhra Pradesh. Wondering how it happened???… It is the commitment, training, and practice, offered by Abhyasa which believes that Perfection comes out only through Practice!!!
Principal Mr. Vinaayaka Kalleetla expressed his happiness for the overall performance of the students of Abhyasa especially when many believe that academics is more important than sports and everywhere sports takes back seat, our boys proved otherwise, he said. We focus on all‐ round progress of our students. Sports and studies get equal importance in our school, added Mr. Vinayak.
The event gave children an opportunity to display their sporting talents and also to forge friendship and integrity among the fraternity of the schools, informed Mr. Vinayak
All the Abhyasites were congratulated in the special assembly held on 01.09.2010. Every medal winner thanked all the members of Abhyasa for their contribution. It was heartening to see the jubiliation. It was indeed a memorable experience emphasizing “Sports for peace, unity and harmony”.

Gurubhyo Namaha...Teacher's Day Celebrations
A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom in the pupils. The wise teacher does not bid you to enter his house of wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind. Such is the importance of a teacher in one’s life.
Teacher’s Day is a tribute to the hard work and devotion of the teachers all year long, to educate a child. In India, teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th of September every year. Indian Teacher’s Day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a zealous advocate of education and one of the greatest scholars and teachers of all times, apart from being the first Vice President and the second President of India. Also, functions are organized in schools on the special day, where students present dance performances, dramas, and various other programs to entertain their teachers. This day provides for a healthy interaction between teachers and students as well.
As students, Abhyasites always identify the contribution of teachers in their life; they know well about the importance of their teachers at every milestone of their life. To pay tribute to their teachers, they have a showcased a beautiful programme for them on Teachers’ Day.

As students, Abhyasites always identify the contribution of teachers in their life; they know well about the importance of their teachers at every milestone of their life. To pay tribute to their teachers, they have a showcased a beautiful programme for them on Teachers’ Day.

Abhyasa celebrates this day in a manner‐ both, traditional and modern. While celebrations begin with the traditional PaadaPooja (Ceremonious washing of the teacher’s feet) they end with the modern Ramp Show! All the teachers were cordially invited into the Play Pen and the Principal felicitated all the teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. Principal was facilitated by all the staff members. Followed by the announcement of the “Favourite Teacher” awards that were given away to Mrs.V Vaani, Ms. Anasuya , Ms.Aravinda, Mr.Raveendran, Mr.Ram Raj, Mr.Dilip and Mr.Uday by the Principal. These names emerged after a poll was conducted for the students to elect their favourite teachers across classes, the previous day.
Following are the glimpses of the event…

FOUNDER'S DAYs
Come September, it is one of the most flavoured and favoured month in Abhyasa as it is filled with activities, celebrations and examinations. It offers a variety taste to all the students and staff as the Academic Calendar has many things as said above in it. Princi’s birthday function is one of the most awaited events on the campus. Princi was surprised with a small party given by Team Abhyasa at 00.00 am on 06.09.2010. He enjoyed it a lot as it was a surprise party.
The motorcade convoy that escorted the Principal to the campus, the colourful flowers, and the cheering student-crowd added to the joy. Later, students rocked the stage with their stunning performances. Vibrancy filled the air. The programme started with dance performances of the junior and middle school students. There were songs which offered a musical feast to the audience. The birthdays of Mrs.Padmavathi Kalletla –the treasurer and mother of our Principal Mr.Vinaayaka Kalleetla, were celebrated on one platform.
Class IX revealed their batch name in a most novel way. Their quality of presentation was nowhere less when compared to an advertisement released by an MNC. It was an awesome performance when it came to the classical dance show performed by the students. The diya dance was very much enjoyed by our Princi and all present in the hall.
It was quite touching the way class IX unveiled their batch name. This time it is “AGASTYA”, even their brand logo was quite thought provoking. Followed by this, many dances and songs were presented by classes X, XI & XII that amazed and kept the audience spell-bound! The programme ended at 1.30 in the morning.
Addressing the students, Princi had thanked all the students for all their efforts. He also appreciated class IX for choosing the name “AGASTYA”. He motivated all the students to be what they are, shine like jewels in their life.
THE ADVENTUROUS HIMAALAYAN TREK – MAY 2010
The arcs teach you how flexible one could be in life. The depths teach you how tall ones’ character could be in life. The waterfalls teach you how joyous one could be in life. The tough paths teach you how patient one could be in life. The heights teach you how great one’s goal could be in life. The mountains teach you how calm one could be in life. The nature teaches you how colourful and multifaceted one could be in life. It is only the give it all that the Abhyaasites learned from the adventurous Himaalyan Trek. They learnt many values to be executed by a human throughout one’s life.
The journey to Delhi started on 06.05.2010 with a team of 19 students and 2 Teacher In- charges started their journey to Delhi. All the parents were requested to drop their children at the Secunderabad Railway station at 12.30 PM as the team had to board the Dooranto Express. By 1.00 pm the team was in the train finding their allotted berths. The team reached Delhi by 07.05.2010 at 12.00 PM.
They had a good bath and after a delicious lunch and we waited for the bus that took the team to Kulu. After a long wait, the bus arrived late, and all the students boarded the bus. There was a lot of activity in the bus as we had a team from Maharashtra packed with older generation. It was an interesting mixture in the bus – 40% of the passengers were aged above 60 years, 40% of the passengers were aged 16 and the rest of them were middle aged. It was 10.30 in the evening and the eyes of the passengers started looking for a good place to dine. Students enjoyed a typical Delhi Dinner and the moment they got into the bus, they slipped into deep sleep.
It was 6.30 am on 08.05.2010 in the morning where the tiny tots woke up to see the beautiful valleys of Himachal Pradesh. The road was too rugged but the view was breathtakingly picturesque. It appeared as though the streams were doing a ramp show. What a feast it was to the nature lovers’ eyes! The bus stopped at a hotel for a short break where the team had some time for breakfast and the journey began again… this time it was only for few hours and we were there in Kulu where the snow-capped mountains offered an imperial welcome to the trekkers. Cameras flashed in all directions.
After reaching the base camp, all the tiny trekkers were allotted a special tent. The base camp was a beautiful spot placed the foot of the great mountain in an Apple farm surrounded by the Deodar trees. The tent was spacious and after a mouthwatering lunch, the team relaxed for a short break. It was in the evening, the Holiday moods team took every body for acclimatization walk. Everyone returned tired and had a lip-smacking dinner ,every one drew themselves into the rugs which were already arranged in the camp.
It was morning on 09.05.2010and there was a great buzz and lot of discussion that went on. Team could not decide. “What should we do now?”… “Should we go to Mani Karan or Rohtang pass”… “Let’s go to Mani Karan… No… we should go to the Rohtang Pass and enjoy the game with ice”… and the debate went on for half-an-hour. “Enough is enough…Let us stop the discussion and move to Rohtang Pass… was the final verdict, which was well-received by all, amidst cheers. Two cabs were arranged and the students rushed into the cabs. The journey was thrilling to many of the students for whom the trek was a maiden experience. We had to stop at a point to hire special warm clothing which was required to go the icy Rohtang Pass. The drive was very risky at times and at other times -joyous. We held our breath and kept our fingers crossed as there were turns in the mountains that sucked our energy and confidence. We had to stop at a point for breakfast and hot tea that re-charged our souls.
We reached the Rohtang pass and lo… the fun began. Snowballs rolled and there was a great cheer and enjoyment as the students giggled, laughed and shouted with joy. They had a great fun and I believe that it would remain in their minds for a life time.
The following was the schedule of the Trek which had run later:
Trek from the Base camp – Bangla (camp I) – 2350M (Trek 7kms/ 4-5 hrs) – 10.05.2010
It was a very pleasant trek up through dense foliage crossing the streams to the forest camp at Bangla. Camp I is set in a beautiful thatch area above the village Tila Sarni. Overnight was exciting and it rained heavily and we were in the in alpine tents.
Camp I – Chachil Phadil (Camp II) – (3000M) (Trek 7Kms/ 4-5hrs) – 11.05.2010
After camp I, we had to take the route which was a lovely gradual traverse through dense forest climbing to the meadows of Naya Tapru. There were fantastic views of the Himalayan range looking towards the scenic Dep Tibba area. Our camp was further 1 km at Chachil Phadil meadow. The Evening was again leisure to explore the camp surroundings. Many adventurous games were conducted in the valley ,which was a great place. We spent the night in alpine tents which was extremely chilling.
Day trek towards Chanderkhani Pass (3660 M) – (Trek 7Kms/ 3hrs, one way) – 12.05.2010
It was finest day that everybody looked forward to. Also, it was the riskiest route in the whole trek. Students enjoyed snow patches and closest views of Deo Tibba and the Pin Parvati range of mountains. We returned to the camp by lunch time. Once again, the evening we explored the camp surroundings at leisure. The second night was also spent in alpine tents that were too chilling where the temperature varied between 1 and 2 degrees Celsius.
Camp II – Pulag Village (Camp III) (2400M) Trek 6Kms/ 3hrs – 13.05.2010
This was the much awaited day to relax for the team, as it was a very interesting descent which leads down to village Pulag. Also it was an excellent opportunity to mix with the local people and experience their hospitality. We had some free time that evening to explore the camp surroundings. It rained cats and dogs that night and the students had great fun in the alpine tents (Trek 7Kms/ 4hrs One Way)

The next morning on 15.05.2010 we went on a visit to visit Manali. The team hired two vehicles to visit Mani Karan – the place where the hot water springs in the great Himalayan Mountains are located.. It is located in the Parvati Valley between the rivers Beas and Parvati, northeast of Bhuntar in the Kullu District of Himachal Pradesh. It is at an altitude of 1760 m and is located about 45 km from Kullu. The team boarded coach on 15.05.2010 evening and reached Delhi on 16.05.2010 in the morning after a satisfying lunch and rest.
The team boarded the Rajadhaani Express on 16.052010 and reached Hyderabad on 17.05.2010…
All Abhyasites had another great experience in their life…
Celebration Nite
A celebration is an event, usually and ordinarily staged by a local community, which centers on and celebrates some unique aspect of that community. For Abhyasites “Celebration Nite” is a feast, it is a set of celebrations in honour of the students and teachers and process owners who brought name and fame with their remarkable contributions in various external events in the first semester of the year.
It was a real banquet and a historical event at Abhyasa, celebrated every year. However, Abhyasites never forget that there are many mile stones waiting to be achieved and it is only a matter of time to see Abhyasa meeting them on the right time. The “Celebration Nite”, as the name states started late at 10.00 p.m with a bang. All the students were served with their favourite combo-burger and soft drink!
All the winners and runners who brought laurels to school in the events like Horlicks Activity, Sports Meet, Inter-school Events and the concerned Teacher In-charges were called onto the stage and were felicitated. Addressing the Abhyasites, Principal Mr.Vinaayaka Kalleetla appreciated not only the students who won medals but also all the participants who competed and put in their best efforts, along with the teachers.
The sound of crackers was no match to the sound of joy that beat in the hearts of Abhyasites. The event went on till 01.30 in the morning and all the students proceeded to take a well-deserved sleep but not before setting the place right. Wanna witness the event??? Please scroll down…
VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME
One of the major activities undertaken by the Student Gram Seva (Community Service) Management Committee is a visit to an old age home which Abhyasites look forward to, since they get an opportunity to touch the lives of the older generation. These little kids joined them for a day at the home for the aged at Narsapur as Abhyasites believe in the dictum, ‘Hands That Serve, Are Holier Than Lips hat Pray’.
They distributed a cake, fruits and shawls to all of them. It was quite heartening the way the kids were received by the old. All students sung Bhajans for them and entertained them with excellent songs and mesmerizing dances. The expression on the countenance of the inmates of the Home, testifies their joy when the little ones had shown such a kind of concern towards them. All the team had returned to campus with mixed feelings.
The Gram Seva Programme on the World Literacy Day
“Hands that serve the humanity are better than the lips that pray for Me“. Abhyasa strongly believes in this concept and has been moulding the students in such a way that they understand and internalize that serving is a part of their life. Students left to help the poor and needy as part of their Gramseva programme on 08.09.2010 on the occasion of World Literacy Day. This time they undertook to educate the young minds on the topics of “No Smoking” and ” Say No Liquor”. They carried placards that depict the above slogans. The programme was arranged at the nearby community hall. The students of Abhyasa explained the ill effects of the smoking and consumption of liquor to the public there. They also explained about the repercussions of the consumption of the same and the impression that it leaves on the next generation.
The people, who had gathered there, listened to these talks with great interest. The importance of education was also explained by the students. Inspired by this, many came forward to promise that they would give up smoking and consumption of liquor.
It was quite heartening to see so many of them coming forward to take an oath. Thanks a million to all those who have been working
for a noble cause.
RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATIONAS AT ABHYASA - 24-08-2010
Relationships are the essence of any festivity and it holds true for any Indian festival. Raksha Bandhan is a celebration of one such relation – that of a brother and a sister. Demonstrating Abhyasa’s belief in its core value of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, Raksha Bandhan programme was organized. True to its belief, the occasion involves a pledge of life-time practice of moral, cultural and spiritual values. The values and the sentiments attached to the rituals of this festival are worth inculcating by the whole human race, the sentiments of harmony and peaceful coexistence., brothers and sisters tie Rakhis on this particular day in order to bring back the oneness of the family, binding the family together in an emotional bond of love. The sequence of the programme went on as below.
Without disturbing the classes much, the programme was arranged during 8.00 to 11.00 so that the family members of Abhyasa could enjoy the fragrance of the festival. Mrs.Veena Venugopal and Mrs.Leelavathi honoured all their brothers from the teaching community, adorning their wrists with colourful Rakhis. The students displayed amazing energy levels to organize a very entertaining programme. All the biological siblings existing in Abhyasa were called to centralized platforms and lots of fun games were conducted. The brothers were asked to make garlands for their sisters. Followed by a ‘ring’ game for them, which was very entertaining. The pairs who lost in the game were asked to do something that entertains their siblings. Master Sawan, Miss Roshini emerged as winners in the game. There were dances, claps, and many acts were performed by the students in this regard. There was another interesting activity wherein the hands of all the sisters were tied together and the brothers were asked to identify their sister’s hand. The added flavor during the programme was the jokes session by Master Sireesh.
The programme concluded with all the Abhyasa sisters tying Raakhis to all their Abhyasa brothers…
Another colourful event remained in the memory at Anubhav-The Amphi Theatre!

THE JOB MELA... FOR THE COMMERCE ACTIVITY 2010
Have you ever attended an interview for a Manager’s profile during your school life? Very few schools provide experiential learning for their students. Again, Abhyasa stands apart from the crowd by providing the pragmatic learning to its wards. As every time, it was the lesson on “Human Resources” which was taught through the experiential learning way.
The morning of 19.09.2010, despite being a Sunday, dawned to be a great morning with the students all excited because, very soon a recruitment drive was going to commence and Abhyasa’s Academic Block, Katyas Korner ,was bustling with activity. Even the chirping birds on the green campus could not make it out who was creating it!!! It was a recruitment drive conducted by the students of classes IX, X, XI & XII, for the forthcoming Commerce Activity on the campus.
Classes IX and XII formed one group and Classes X and XI formed the other group ,which would be representing two companies for the most looked forward to, Commerce Activity ,that is being conducted since the year 2003 very successfully on the campus by the Commerce team at Abhyasa. Both the teams were in the process of forming two Public Limited Companies for the Commerce Activity.
The teams were handed over sample copies of Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association. They were taught the concepts of Organorgram and how to prepare the same. The Board of Directors was elected along with the Chief Executive Officer and Vice-President for the companies. An advertisement for recruitment invited everyone on the campus for the different portfolios to be filled.

Different interviewing panels from both the companies were constituted to interview the candidates. GANESHA CHATURDHI
“Mudaakaraattamodakam…” the melodious Ganesha panchaashtakam was up in the air being transmitted many channels to enlighten the spirits of the Hindus who celebrate this famous festival. Abhyasites as usual were very punctual and celebrated this festival with a great religious note. As taught by Abhyasa, all the students of Abhyasa know the value of Ganesh Chaturdhi. Let us recall them once. Ganesha’s trunk is a matter of concern for many devotees. A trunk curled towards right indicates emphasis of moral values in life. The elephant head denotes wisdom and its trunk represents Om, the sound symbol of cosmic reality. In his upper right hand Ganesha holds a goad, which helps him propel mankind forward on the eternal path and remove obstacles from the way. The noose in Ganesha’s left hand is a gentle implement to capture all difficulties. The broken tusk that Ganesha holds like a pen in his lower right hand is a symbol of sacrifice, which he broke for writing the Mahabharata. The rosary in his other hand suggests that the pursuit of knowledge should be continuous. The laddoo (sweet) he holds in his trunk indicates that one must discover the sweetness of the Atman. His fan-like ears convey that he is all ears to our petition. The snake that runs round his waist represents energy in all forms. He is humble enough to ride the lowest of creatures, a mouse. All the Abhyasites being grouped into classes made eco friendly idols using only clay. Their creativity knew no boundaries. There were 7 excellent idols of Ganesh from different classes. After a charging half-day of making Ganeshas, the students went for delicious lunch followed by idol making programme. It was in the evening where Homam was performed by our beloved Principal. Ganesh puja was performed with lot of respect and Prasadam was distributed to all the students. After the story being told by the priest, the student left for the dinner. It was also a unique day where in most favoured festival of Muslims, “Ramzaan” is celebrated. Students went to mosque and offered prayers in the evening. It was the next day i.e 12.09.2010, where the air in Abhyasa was filled with electricity. As it was planned to go for Ganesh Nimajjan on the next day itself, all the students and parents gathered in the campus at 4.00 PM to perform the final rituals for this year to the Lord. The 5 student Ganeshas lead the procession followed by the Bhajans team. The vibrant dancing team followed them being followed by the Palaquins. Serving all the students and the public it was Prasad and water distribution team that came. It was a marvelous demonstration by all the teams on the roads of Toopran in all aspects. The procession stalled at the Toopran tank to say adieu to the Lord. After performing the rituals, all the Ganesha idols were immersed in the waters of Toopran tank. Everyone returned to the campus, their hearts filled with love for Ganesha. Thanks to all the parents who made this event a grand success.
THE 85TH BIRTHYDAY OF BHAGAVAAN SREE SATYA SAI BAABA
It has been 85 years that the divine power has come down once again to the Earth to educate the society about Love and Humanity. In fact, it has been a great blessing from Bhagavan to initiate many educational institutions at Puttaparthi. One of the buds that bloomed following the footsteps of Bhagavan Baba is Abhyasa. So, on the occasion of Bhagavaan Baba’s birthday, Abhyasa, conducted Nagar Sankeertan in the morning and Narayan Seva in the evening.
All the students moved in lines singing Bhajans as the Palanquin moved in advance. The streets of Toopran were filled with the humming of Bhajans and filled the emotions of spirituality in the air. All the students returned to campus. Once the classes were over, Narayana Seva was conducted in the evening. As it was the 85th Birthday of Bhagavan Baba, 85 sets of new clothes to men and women were distributed. It was very touching to see all the students participating religiously in the programme.
The stage was beautifully set and Jhoola was arranged for Baba. The students sang bhajans and performed dances. Mr.Sastry, Vice-Principal, Academics gave a speech on Baba’s greatness and simplicity. A video about Value-based education in schools was shown to all the students.

CHILDREN'S DAY – 2010
It is a known fact that Abhyasa experiences the smiles of roses every day and every second. Utmost care is taken for the children’s education and their overall development. The staff at Abhyasa waits for the opportunity to exhibit their innate talents and potential on 14th November, the birthday of Jawarharlal Nehru, which offers very good and lovable memories to all the students of Abhyasa.

The evening saw the gala events for the students. The first batch of IG Students was given their testimonials. A few alumni, who were on the campus to attend the alumni meet, shared their memories and experiences with Abhyasa. They also expressed that students who are with Abhyasa should learn to be positive and appreciative whatever resources they have and utilize them to a maximum extent.
Teachers dressed in the Evening Dress of students, invoked the gods, with vedic chanting. The next programme was a classical dance recital by the Dance Master which was well -received by the students. The comedy- filled “Radio Programme” was a blast. Kids really enjoyed this programme.
As part of the programme, Team IX and XII launched their Company Name amidst crackers and great applause, which made the event more colourful. They named their Company name as “COLOURS”
Dramas, Songs, Dances and Jokes and what not…followed. It was a merry time for the kids to see their teachers and administrative staff of the school in action.
As the programme ended with National Anthem, everyone returned for dinner with memories in their hearts…
SARAT SAURABH
The serene atmosphere at Abhyasa bustled with activity, for “Sarat Saurabh” the Primary School Concert. The event was planned well in advance and students practiced vigorously for the event. This time the theme being, “Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitaha” which means, “If you protect Righteousness, in turn it will protect you”.
There were three plays in three different languages viz. Hindi, English and Telugu, depicting the theme. The guests for this event were Mr. Nadendla Manohar, the Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and Mr.Anuj Guruwara, the famous singer from the Indian Film Industry.
The event started with “Veda Pathanam” – reciting the slokas from the Vedas by the tiny tots, followed by the invocation dance praising the Goddess Durga with the famous “Ayigiri Nandini”, verses composed in praise of goddess Durga by Adi Shankara. The Hindi Drama – “Parivartan” followed the invocation dance which thrilled the whole set of audience. It evoked a tremendous round of applause as the audience had a takeaway from the depiction which was about one adopting a good habit and saving oneself from other evil ones. This drama discussed about a thief who turned to be a truthful personality and about a minister whose real character, which of a fraud, was exposed.
Next, it was the climax scene of the most famous Shakespeare’s drama, “The Merchant of Venice”. The audience could not arrest themselves to give a thunderous applause by watching the drama. All the characters – Antonio, Basanio, Portia and the Duke performed excellently. The drama left the message among the audience that evil can never win over the good because the world also has good souls that protect righteousness. After this performance, the hilarious performance – “Alludu Vachchadu”, a skit in Telugu ,followed the sequence. It was an outstanding presentation by the students. Again, there was a huge round of applause from the audience for this comic, yet another message oriented drama.
Immediately the Folk Dance dedicated to goddess Mysamma, followed. This dance portrayed the traditional, rural culture of worshipping the Goddess. It was fabulous to see the kids dancing to the countryside beats. It was extremely amazing.
After all these presentations, the news letter for the I semester 2010 was released. In the words of Mr.Nadendla Manohar, it was a great experience for all the kids to get educated at Abhyasa which had adopted quality teaching and learning practice which match with global standards. He also complimented about the serenity of the ambience of the Abhyasa campus which facilitates better learning.
Mr.Anuj Guruwara held the audience spell- bound with his song from Magadheera. All the teachers who coordinated with the event were felicitated accordingly. It was very heartening to see all the parents meeting their children to take them for a month’s vacation.
THE HEMANT UTSAV - 2010
The most colourful event looked forward to by all Abhyasites, is the Hemant Utsav. This year’s Hemant Utsav was very special for two reasons, the first being the Crystal Year and the second being the awesome venue-Shilpakala Vedika.
Everything was ready-the aesthetically set reception counters, the floral decorations, the staff and students all eager to present the programme. The programme started at 5.45pm on 24th December.
No one moved from their chairs and everyone was awestruck with the quality of programme displayed. Eminent personalities from various walks of life graced the occasion and were very appreciative of the programme. “It was a real qualitative evening that I have spent in my life” said one of the parents, who were enthralled by the quality of the programme.
The programme started by 5.45 in the evening with the Vedic Chanting, by the students of the primary school. This time they chanted “Sree Durgasuktam” and the tiny tots were loud and clear in their chanting. A team from the middle school sung the invocation song in praise of our Motherland,”JAYA JAYA JAYA PRIYA BHAARATA JANAYITRI…DIVYA DHAATRI”. A power point presentation depicting the greatness of India was seen in the background, as the song was sung by the students.
Then started the Dance Ballet, “SREE GURUBHYO NAMAHA” – which portrayed the importance of the role, played by various, Great Teachers, across the globe. The ancient Indian ethos of a teacher’s (Guru’s) role in shaping the character of an individual and society at large was vividly depicted in this colourful dance ballet. The ballet began with sage Vyasa and retraced down the annals of history up to the contemporary Indian Gurus- Abdul Kalam and Sri Satya Sai Baba, emphasizing on the teacher’s role in shaping of leaders.
After the dance ballet, all the students who worked their magic in the ISCE and ISC exams were honoured with medals and certificates. Master Sai Kundan Vemuganti and Miss Sushumna Ireni were conferred with gold medals for being the overall topper and over all girls topper respectively, in 2009-2010 ICSE examinations. Master Harshin Lalpet was felicitated for being the overall topper in 2009-2010 ISC examinations.
The Chief Guest Mr.Jayesh Ranjan, was very appreciative about the performance of the students and also Abhyasa for her excellent efforts in grooming the students for overall development. He also shared that Teachers and Parents should also play a major role in grooming the students effectively to create a better future for the country. The Principal Secretary, Department of Tourism, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, also said “Did you know that out of 100 children who join class 1 only 12 complete their 10th class? Therefore we need to recognize the individual talent of students think beyond academics and allow the child to excel in it. As gone are the days of cushy jobs in corporate or government sector”. Commenting about the programme, The Chief Guest said that by virtue of being the Principal Secretary, Tourism, he had the opportunity of seeing many cultural shows earlier, but he was amazed at the quality and standard of the programme presented by Abhyasites that evening.
Earlier,Dr. R.Prabhakar Rao, retd. IPS and Chairman Abhyasa Governing Body, in consonance echoed similar views in his welcome address, while eulogizing on the dictum of ‘Perfection Through Practice’. Underlining the significance of culture and how it enables to establish one’s individual identity, he extrapolated on the age old Indian culture of knowledge seeking as a partnership between the Shishya and the guru, in Abhyasa.
After the medal distribution programme, one of the excellent shows in the History of Abhaysa, started – it was the Drama “Right To Freedom?!”… This was the highlight of the evening which was a play based on ‘Right to Education’. The play voiced many fundamental questions from a child’s point of view on this issue verses the child’s’ Right to Freedom’. Does any child in this country have the fundamental right to choose what he or she wants to do? Does mere universalisation of education meet the objective of nation building? What about the fact that different children are differently abled? Does the new found fondness of pushing every child into a school in the neighborhood address the issue of diversity among children? It also examined the conflict of value systems prevalent in various segments of Indian society today.
The story is that of a care free young boy named Raju, who lives in Gopalpur, a remote Indian village. He drops out of school because he wants to lead a happy life by working in a dhaba. At the dhaba, he overhears, some customers advising his owner not to employ children as they have a right to education. The Chief Minister launches the Right to Education Programme in Gopalpur village. As a part of this programme the boy is given an opportunity to study in an International School in his neighbourhood. However, the boy experiences a culture shock and runs away from school. His mother is shocked and persuades Raju to go back to school.Raju completes his studies with flying colours. He is forced to leave the school as the age limit for “free education” in that prestigious international school is over. His parents cannot afford his higher education. Raju’s childhood friends make fun of him as he is pushed out of the International School. Some of his friends at least had a vocational training to fall back on but Raju had not really acquired any skills to fall back on. He attempts suicide and is saved on time. His father had to leave the village by pushing off all the assets and gets ready to live in the slums of the city to get his son educated. The drama also throws a lot of questions to the audience on the concept “Right to Education”.
As part of Abhyasa’s policy of: ‘No child left behind’ each kid got a role to play. Parents of students from different parts of the country were also present to encourage their children. Some of the issues or expressions depicted in this drama forced one to introspect and appreciate a child’s point of view. All the 430 students of Abhyasa participated in this programme consisting of cultural items.
Both the dance ballet and the play conceived by Vinyak Kalletla, the Founder Principal, Abhyasa School were produced and presented in a professional manner.
Mrs. Jamuna Ramna Rao, doyenne of Indian Cinema and Ex MP, Justice V Neeladri Rao were also present on the occasion among the host of dignitaries, academicians, parents and school children.
A MEMARABLE VISIT TO BOMMALAKOLUVU ON VIJAYADASHIMI DAY
On Vijayadashimi day, 17th October, fourteen students of Abhyasa’s first batch of IGCSE students along with Mr. Vinayak kallletla, Our beloved Principal, Mr. CVK Sastry, Vice Principal and Mrs.Sita, our Craft teacher went to witness the Bommala Koluvu in the mansion of Srimati Jamuna Ramana Rao, the Deon of South Indian cinema, AT Banjara Hills. A variety of traditional toys were arranged beautifully and in mind boggling order. It revived the cultural heritage of India. There were seven steps in which various toys were kept in the order, from common man to celestial beings and finally to God. In fact in one of the sections the Ramayana was depicted with various events. The arrangement was not only to portray the tradition of India but also portrayed the Gods of Thailand, the western world and so on.
There was also a place, which supported through toys the environmental protection and showed how we are destroying the environment with mindless construction activity. It showed how urbanization is destroying the traditional farming system in India. Overall it was a trip to remember and really hats off to Srimati Jamuna garu for giving us a great opportunity to witness her Bommala Kolluvu.
Another interesting thing that we noticed was every one in the house had participation in the bommala koluvu, right from the 5 year old Grandson to 80 year old Grandpa. Some of the toys have been preserved for over six decades…and they look very bright and fresh. Few snaps taken by us:

It was an amazing experience for the first timers to see such a multitude of foreign devotees all attired in Indian attire! It was around 6.30 PM when Swami had given a glimpse of Darshan and went out. But about 8.00 PM in the evening, Swami came to the devotees and spent around 40 minutes with the devotees. A group of foreigners presented a dance ballet portraying that Jesus and Baba are one and the same. All of us were indeed happy to see a heart -warming presentation and also to witness Baba shower his blessings, love and grace on all present in the auditorium.
The next morning, the team explored Puttaparthi – starting from Chaitanya Jyoti, -the museum that exhibits the life, mission and accomplishments of Baba, music college, Gokulam- the abode of the cattle and the other educational institutions like the School, College and the University buildings.
On the morning of 29th, team Abhyasa were fortunate to have a close yet fleeting glance of Baba before exploring the Book Store inside the Prasanti Nilayam and also the International Sports Centre. SPORTS MEET 2010 - 2011
It is said that Sport strips away personality, letting the white bone of character shine through thus giving players an opportunity to know and test themselves. This is precisely the reason for Abhyasa to include Sports as an integral part of the curriculum. As Abhyasa is committed to All Round Personality Development, Sports and Games are always given an equal priority and a good amount of time is being spent by the students.
The opening and closing ceremony of the Annual Sports Meet at Abhyasa, is always one of the most looked- forward – to events. During these days, one can get to identify talented students, who in turn, find a berth in the school team. Abhyasa conducts a sports meet to enhance the skills and quality of the student’s personality. The atmosphere was filled with sportsmanship and competitive spirit. The Priyanka’s play field stood as witness for the joy and fun- filled environment on 13th, 14th and 15th of January, 2011.
