Ice Breaking Function… The colours are back to the campus
  • Yippy… the campus is colourful again with the students reporting back to campus. Though it was painful for the mother, to send another batch of ICSE and ISC after the March exams, as some of the ICSE have reported back to campus and with the new students joining across various classes, colours are back the campus – Mother Abhyasa has waited for its wards throughout the month May which was painful for her to be departed with her kids. It was June 05th 2010, the senior students came back from their vacation and it was June 10th and June 12th 2010, the juniors including the new students reported to campus turning the Campus vibrant.

After all the painful moments, where the parents have to leave the campus leaving the kids here all the students were directed to the Priyanka’s Play Pen – where the students have organized a show for the school to break the ice between the new comers and the existing students. There were a lot of games conducted to make students to get acclimatized to each other.

It was so touching to see teacher and the senior students consoling the new comers to the campus. All the new comers to the campus forgot that they were away from their homes and joined the programme. Tongue Twisters, Ball Games, songs and dances were performed by the students. All new students were attached with their buddies and there was joyful atmosphere at Abhyasa. We shall not forget the efforts of the Student Activity Management Group which made this event a memorable one.

All the staff both Academic and Administration were introduced to the school on the next day. Mrs.Murthy, In charge-Principal addressed the students and shared to be very active and energetic. She also shared that the students need to develop the habit of being disciplined to get maximum benefits from Abhyasa.

After the meeting, the academic sessions have started at Abhyasa for the year 2011 – 2012.

THE INVESTITURE CEREMONY 2011-2012
  • It is a quite a unique process at Abhyasa to elect the student leaders for different process to achieve the goal of “Overall Personality Development” of a student. Students are given a fair and democratic chance to nominate themselves to handle various departments which are mentioned as follows:

    • Academic Management
    • Discipline Management
    • Campus Management
    • Mess Management
    • Gram Seva Management
    • Spirituality Management
    • Activity Management
    • Sports Management

Once all the nominations are received, the student leaders would be elected in the Open Assembly where the students are asked to vote for the candidate. The School Administration Team also brainstorms the candidate’s ability of leading the given process.

Even this year, voting for the Students Managers, Class Leaders, Class Academic Coordinators, Dorm Leaders and deputy leaders for the different process was done. The process was done on a very transparent manner and basis. At Abhyasa, we mean what we say. To inculcate the same quality in our students, the student managers who manage the different processes would be asked to present their goals to be achieved for the year. They will be motivated to come up with new ideas to enhance the quality of process managed by them. They will come up with their own ideas with collective brain storming.

The training of the future leaders starts with the process of making them acclimatized with the system. All the elected student managers for different committees were asked to present their goals to the school.

On 22nd June, the programme started by offering prayers to Lord Ganapathi in which students have shown their skills of dance in Mohini Attam, Kathak and Bharata Natyam. Later all the student managers were invested by the Chief Guest. Respected Principal, Mr.Vinaayaka Kalleetla administered the oath to the student managers who promised to perform their duties with diligence. All the students were also took an oath that they would offer their best support to the student leaders to run the system very smoothly at Abhyasa. This year students were privileged to have Mr.Raghu Ram – a renowned Breast Cancer Specialist from Hyderabad as Chief Guest for the function. Adding colours to the event, Abhyasa has celebrated her 16th Birthday (June 21st) along with the event.

The Chief Guest was requested to cut the cake and all the students were distributed the cake. Once all the student managers were handed over the responsibilities all the students moved to the Auditorium in the new Science block followed by a Question and Answer session. Mr.Raghu Ram was patient enough to answer all the questions of the students and appreciated the spirit of the students for the quality of questions raised. He also gave a message that one need not be very intelligent to become successful but should have focus and commitment to go up the ladder in life.

THE FIRST MEDICAL CAMP OF THE YEAR 2011 – 2012
  • No wonder the word is turning around money. Most of the society had forgotten the concept of serving the others as they are running after earning money and wealth. Serving the Needy and Poor is an attitude which is developed at the school level at Abhyasa. As Abhyasa believes in Overall Personality Development of her wards, many programmes are conducted involving the students to serve the poor and needy. One of such programmes is Conduction of Medical Camps for the under privileged. On 24.07.2011 the first medical camp of the year was conducted with the cooperation of doctors who are like minded to serve the poor people at Toopran.

Students, Doctor Parents of the school participated in this programme with great patience and enthusiasm. Prior to the camp, the Student Committee members of Abhyasa had gone around the village, Toopran, and educated all the residents about the camp and the Narayana Seva which would be conducted on 24.07.2011. It was a feast to see that many teachers and students participated voluntarily in the programme to make the same a grand success. Under the guidance and supervision of the teachers, the student members of the Gram Seva Committee had completed the task meticulously.

All the patients in need were provided free medicine and thanks to all the doctors who spent their day with great patience listening to all the patients throughout the day. Almost 700 patients were attended and were treated. It was so touching to see students distributing their used cloths which were in good condition to the poor. This was idea was discussed in the beginning of the year and the Gram Seva Committee has been collecting clothes from the interested who would like to serve the poor and needy.

A million thanks to the Mess Management committee who served food tirelessly to all the people who gathered at the camp as part of Narayan Seva. It was very challenging to attend so many people for the students but with all the guidance of the teachers they made the event a great success. All the doctors were thanked for their service including with the student volunteers.

As Bhagawan Baba rightly said, “LOVE ALL, SERVE ALL”, the same has been put into practice at Abhyasa.

HANDS THAT HELP ARE HOLIER THAN THE LIPS THAT PRAY
  • Social Responsibility has always been a very important concept for Abhyasa. Abhyasa has always been displaying this since its conception. Abhyasa ever believes the “LOVE ALL AND SERVE ALL” concept which was given by Bhagawan Sree Satya Sai Baba. Respected Principal had taken up a decision in this regard to add another feather to Abhyasa’s crown – offering Free Education to the poor and needy from Class 1.

On 01.08.2011, Mr.Vinaayaka Kalleetla, had formally started the classes for the poor, needy and deserved students from Toopran. A separate class room was allotted with good infrastructure for the students in the class. Applications were invited from the locals and they were screened and the eligible was granted permission into 1st class. An experienced and qualified teacher was recruited by the school for educating the students. No student need to pay any fee to the institution. All the students will also be served free lunch at the school.

Mrs.Murthy, In-charge Principal, praised the efforts of the Principal for his Social Responsibility. All the students were advised to learn such values from Abhyasa and implement the same when they grow up and become professionals.

THE APL (ABHYASA PREMIER LEAGUE) – 2011
  • As the whole world moves with fever of the IPL, Abhyasites celebrated the moments of APL also on the campus. It was the time for the prestigious APL tourney to be conducted on the campus.

APL, Abhyasa Premier League was conducted on the campus during the summer camp, in which four teams participated in the League – Class 9, Class 10, Class 12 and the Teachers’ Team. There was hectic competition among all the four teams. The Teachers Team had beaten all the teams and reached the finals. The same the class 12 team also won over the class 9 and class 10 teams and reached the finals.

There were high tension moments during the finals as the class 125 team won the final match with 1 run. The best part of the event was that the students had a great opportunity to give live commentary of all the matches along with the teachers.

The winning team was awarded the APL tourney shield. The event had strengthened the relations between the teachers and students to a great extent.

1ST PARENT TEACHER INTERACTION – 2011
  • School, Teachers and Parents are the main stake holders to shape the future citizens of any country. Hence they should keep themselves in continuous touch with each other to shape the future of the country. Abhyasa never forgets this fact and always arranges a formal Parent Teacher Interaction session in each semester. As part of the same on 07.08.2011, the first Parent Teacher Indication was conducted at the Priyanka’s Play Pen from 09.00 AM onwards. The pre-lunch session was meant for the classes 4 to 8 and the post-lunch session was meant for classes 9 to 12.

A fair and transparent feedback was given to parents throughout the day. The feedback was not only about Academics but also about their health, food, dorms and sports and extra curricula activities. At the end of the day an open house meeting was conducted by Principal with all the parents where all the doubts of the parents were solved.

Administrators and teachers were very patient to attend to all the queries of the parents. All parents were very happy to attend the meeting and they left the day with a great amount of confidence that Abhyasa has been offering her best to their wards.

Thanks to all the Teachers, Administrators and Parents who made this event a successful one…

2ndParent_Teacher_interaction2012
  • The second parent teacher interaction of the academic year 2011-2012 was held on 12.02.2012. This is the second parent teacher interaction which happens on the campus. In addition to the same, a book exhibition was also organized at the Tamarind tree motivating the students and parents to buy good books.

The morning session was meant for the junior classes o.e 4 to 8 and the evening session was meant for the senior classes i.e 9 to 12. Almost all the parents attended the session seeking clarifications, offering suggestions and enquiring about their wards’ over all personality development. All the parents of board going students were explained about the steps taken to groom them well for board exams for which they were very happy. The detail of a Himalayan trek planned in the 2nd week of May was also displayed. At the end of the programme, there was an Open House Meeting chaired by Director / Founder Principal during which the queries of the parents were addressed.

All the parents were very happy and thanked the School and teachers for their patience and co-operation and for the quality time spent for development of their wards.

KRISHNAASTAMI CELEBRATIONS
  • “Karmanye Vaadhikaaraste Maa phaleshu kadaachana…” the famous quote from Sreemad Bhagavadgeeta motivates crores of the humans across the globe. It was 23.08.2011, the birthday of Geetaachaarya, Lord Krishna, on which Abhyasa had celebrated with great enthusiasm. Divine atmosphere was created across the campus indicating the birthday of the Lord.

The Krishnaastami celebrations were celebrated in the evening from 06.00 pm onwards in the Priyanka’s Playpen. The whole school attended the celebrations. Before the programme could commence the “Utti” programme was conducted at the school grounds which was enjoyed by the students to the most. Later, “Jhoola” was arranged for the Lord in the Priyanka’s Playpen.. There were songs, dances and group performances presented for the Lord. The daandiya performance offered for the lord by the girls was quite impressive and it was honoured by all the audiences with a huge round of applause. Songs by Miss Ritu Shraavani were melodious and the fragrance of the music was enjoyed by all. There were tiny tots who were made up like the Lord on the dais whose presence was very much enjoyed by the crowd.

The programme came to an end by offering “Aarthi” to the lord.

TEACHER'S DAY 2011
  • Teachers are second parents and parents are second teachers .Teachers in Abhyasa always play parental role feeling it as their responsibility but not duty. “A teacher’s purpose is not to create students in his own image, but to develop students who can create their own image” is the philosophy in which Abhyasa always believes in.

Teachers are always given the highest priority at Abhyasa as the teachers at Abhyasa feel that their students are their banks to deposit their knowledge. The splendid celebrations of teacher’s day at Abhyasa started with the traditional “Paadapuja” being offered to the Teachers in amphitheatre at 8 a.m. In Sanskrit “GU” means “Agnana” and “RU” means “to remove”, so Guru always illuminates his students with his knowledge and in the same process he also learns more. Abhyasa Teachers are always on this task and they work for the overall development of the students as per the vision and mission of Abhyasa. Abhyasa students did Paada Pooja to their teachers and administrative staff members showing their love and gratitude for the love and concern shown towards them by the Abhaysa staff. Those were the most happiest moments for Gurus and precious moments for students as they expressed their love and concern to each other. Founder principal Sri Vinaayaka Kalleetla honoured his teacher and present in-charge Principal Mrs.Murthy being an icon of Abhyasa students.

Those emotional moments were followed by honoring the teachers in Priyanka’s Playpen by Principal with gifts. Each and every staff member was honoured. Mr.VInayak and Mrs.Murthy honored them with flowers and gifted them with clothes following the tradition of Abhyasa. At the end of the session Mr.Vinayak was blessed by his adored teacher and advisor Mrs.Murthy with flowers and new clothes.

“It doesn’t matter what a teacher teaches but it matters what he is. The communication between the student and the teacher serves as a connection between the two, which provides a better atmosphere for a classroom environment and the teacher student relationship is very important for children. Children spend approximately 5 to 7 hours a day with a teacher for almost 10 months. We ask ourselves what is considered to be a good teacher. All of us have gone through schooling, and if fortunate had a favorite teacher. A positive relationship between the student and the teacher is difficult to establish, but can be found for both individuals at either end. The qualities for a positive relationship can vary to set a learning experience approachable and inviting the students to learn. A teacher and student who have the qualities of good communications, respect in a classroom, and show interest in teaching from the point of view of the teacher and learning from a student will establish a positive relationship in the classroom” said Mr.Vinaayaka Kalleetla during his speech to the students.

Exiting part of the day was the different cultural activities started at 9.30 a.m. Teachers were entertained by the games conducted by the students for them. Programme was finished by 10.30a.m.and students were sent to milk break. In this memorable occasion everyone should once commit to memory of Dr.Sarveypalli Radha Krishnan, the former president of India on whose birth day The Teachers day is established and being celebrated in India.

VISIT OF MR. SATYAJIT
  • “Character is doing the right thing when nobody’s looking.” Abhyasa always preaches this to her wards. Don’t try to be different. Just be good. To be good is different enough. Abhyasa follows the same which took Abhyasa to join the Sri Satya Sai Vidya Vahini Programme. As part of this programme Sri Satyjit, Sri Kodi RamaKrishna and Sri Prasanth visited Abhyasa on 28.08.2011. They were served delicious breakfast after they arrived to the campus.

Sri Satyajit reviewed the sports practice, watched the puppet show conducted by students and visited all the Labs (Maths Lab, Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, Biology Lab, Language Lab and Computer Lab) at Abhyasa. He expressed his happiness with the capacity and quality of Library at Abhyasa and the Air Conditioned auditorium. Sri Satyajit appreciated the planned and well suited conduction of daily schedule according to the needs and necessities of students at Abhyasa.

All the time Sri Satyajit was accompanied by founder Principal Sri Vinaayaka Kalleetla explaining how Abhyasa trains students for their overall development of their character. Sri Satyajit also reviewed the school cinema project and visited smart class facility at Abhyasa. Sri Satyajit could not spend much time with the students for the Question and Answer session as he had another appointment to attend. But he gave a message to the students to utilize the resources, infrastructure of Abhyasa to develop the quality of their future.

Ganesha Chaturdhi 2011
  • Lord Ganesha represents “Om” or the Pranava, which represents the Hindu Dharma. It is always believed that Lord Ganesh is the power that removes all hindrances for any task before it is being taken over. His two feet represent the power of knowledge and the power of action. The elephant head is significant in that it is the only figure in nature that has the form of the symbol for Om. The significance of riding on a mouse is the complete conquest over egoism. The holding of the ankusha represents His rule of the world. It is the emblem of divine Royalty. His huge ears indicate the urge for knowledge. Vinayaka Chaviti is the best blend for tradition and passion during which children are always much excited to celebrate Lord Ganesha’s birthday.

Whole campus was colorfully decorated to welcome Ganesha on 01.09.2011. Children eagerly waited to show their creativity as they have to make Ganesha Idols with clay. After a delicious breakfast session they jumped into the activity of making the idols at the Amphi Theatre. “There are no passengers on spaceship earth. We are all crew. We mankind don’t have any right to pollute the earth and we do not inherit earth from our ancestors”. Abhyasa preaches the same as part of Go Green activity, Ganesha idols are always made with the mud. Children were very devoted and creative in making different varieties of Ganesha Idols.

It’s a beautiful eye sight in the evening to watch students participating in pooja with colorful traditional ware. Respected Principal performed pooja to the Lod along with hawan. Laddu prasadam was distributed to students as they proceeded for dinner.

Ganesh nimajjan procession is much awaited for parents every year. On 04.09.2011, Pooja started in the afternoon with hawan. Ganesha idols were placed in push carts after aarthi was offered to the Lord. Human Ganeshas headed the procession along with Vedic Chanting team. Bhajan and dance troupes followed them. Slogan and water distributing teams followed the push carts which carried the Ganesha Idols. Every team was under the supervision of teacher incharges. The procession stopped at each and every Ganesha idol arranged in Toopran village for 2 to 3 minutes.

By that time the procession reached the Toopran Tank it rained heavily as the sign of blessing from the Lord. Dancing in the showers – all the parents, students and teachers moved ahead. Respected Principal offered final pooja at the tank and was the nimajjan process followed later. All the students, parents and teachers came back with heavy hearts back to the campus. But the slogans went on for the lord – “Ganapathi Bappa Moriya, Pudcha Varshi Laukariyaa”…

RAKHI – THE SYMBOL OF BONDING
  • Abhyasa always believes in teaching her wards about the age old traditions which will inculcate the values of livings among students. As part of the same, certain events are conducted on the campus educating the kids about the importance of the traditions and cultures. One of such events is Celebration of Rakhi Festival on the campus.

On 13.08.2011, the Rakhee celebrations were conducted on the campus. No academic session was disturbed for the same. Students have managed the programme in an excellent. Mrs.Veena Venugopal, Vice-Principal (Administration) has tied Rakhis to all the male staff and offered sweets proving the fact once again that we always stand as a family. Later the importance of Rakhi festival and the importance of the relation of a brother and sister, was explained by the Academic Co-ordinator, Mr.V.B.K.Murthy.

There were god cultural programmes followed the speech which included games for the siblings on the campus. All the siblings were asked to play games which entertained the audience. After the girls tied Rakhis to their brothers, the programme ended at 10.30 am in the morning after which the students have attended their classes.

GRAND PARENTS DAY CELEBRATIONS ON CAMPUS
  • It has been a tradition in India, to respect and honour the elders in the family. India offers a united family system and offers a great amount of values to be learnt from the same. Supporting the same, Abhyasa also teaches preaches the importance of honoring the elders in one’s family.

On 04.09.2011, the Grand Parents Day was celebrated on the campus. The parents were requested to bring the grandparents to the campus so that they are honoured by their grandchildren at the campus. All the Grandparents who visited the campus were made to seat in the special chairs arrange in Amphi Theatre. The grand children of the concerned did paada pooja and offered their love and concern to them. The importance of respecting the elders was explained to the students. All the parents and grandparents expressed their happiness and appreciated Abhyasa for inculcating such practices on the campus.

ANVESHANA – THE MATHS AND SCIENCE FEST – 2011
  • In it’s 16th year, on 11th August, 2011 Abhyasa hosted its 6th ‘Anveshana’ – The Math & Science Fest, motivating the students to explore the minds of young students. This fest also provides an opportunity to students to show-case their talents in a unique way, and this is only put up by Abhyasa.

9 schools including Abhyasa participated in the fest. The events of the fest were very interesting and encouraging which would motivate the students to explore different areas of science and prove their talent. The following were the items in the fest.

    • Quiz
    • Science Behind the Situation
    • Character Discovery
    • Model Presentation
    • Individual Competition in Mathematics
    • Team activity in Mathematics

All the students from different schools were given a traditional and formal welcome. All the guests were directed to the Maths and Science exhibition. The models that were displayed at the Physics, Chemistry and Biology Labs were awesome and one of the students of the other school expressed that next year he would like to place his model for the exhibition. All the students enjoyed and had a great learning. The Clay models in the Biology Lab were quite attractive and every one praised the quality of the models. The models which were displayed in the Maths Lab also grabbed the attention of everyone and all teachers and students from the other schools praised the quality of the models and skills of presentation of the students.

The competition was very hectic in the quiz in all the rounds and the participants, audience and the judges enjoyed it. The quiz was followed by the Character Discovery which enthralled the audiences. The explanations for the event “Science Behind the Situation” surprised everyone. Model presentation had brought out great performances and creative ideas by Abhyasites which were appreciated by everyone. The individual and group activities were conducted at the Library.

The husk is used as fodder for cattle; fuel in the villages and is also used in brick making. The workers of the mill hail from Orissa. The mill distributes steamed rice and boiled rice to several districts in the state and exports the same to other states too. The out capacity of the mill is 1000 bags per day. The process goes on for 8 hours every day. It has the capacity to produce 4 tons of rice in an hour.

It was a great experience for the class 11 students to go round the factory which is into manufacturing an international brand of coffee powder. After being explained about the safety procedures, all the students were let into the factory after being provided with the safety equipment. They have learnt a lot about management of Inventory. On the 17th December 2011, class XI students of Abhyasa, offered their service at Hyderabad’s grand old Palace Chowmahalla (from where the Nizams once ruled the State) as a part of hospitality during Zakir Hussain’s musical concert.

The world renowned Tabla player was at his best performance as his fingers danced on the tabla and kept his audience spell bound through his performance. The hall reverberated with the sound of music.

Officials of Taj Hotel guided our students while they took care of the dignitaries in the green room. The students also navigated the crowd to the proper gates for entry and exit. Zakir Hussain was so impressed by this selfless service that he appreciated our students profusely. The student batch had left school in the afternoon and returned late after midnight.

Attending the concert was a great inspiration for the table players of the school. They said it was an unforgettable experience for them and were thankful to the school for giving them such an opportunity.

MERRY CHRISTMAS – 2011
  • Jingle bells… Jingle bells… Jingle all the way… “Anubhav”, the amphi theatre echoed with the carols sung by the little ones on the evening of the 25th December. Abhyasa Residential school, like every year celebrated Christmas in a serene way. Christmas is from Chrites Maesse, which means Christ Mass. December 25th was the birthday of Mithras, the Iranian God of light. This day was adopted by the church to celebrate Christmas festival. All students were taken to the local church to offer prayers to the Christ.

“May the good times and treasures of the present become the golden memories of tomorrow. Wish you lots of love, joy and happiness this Christmas” with this note began the celebrations. Father Manoj from Society of Divine Word, presided over the programme. In his address he thanked the school for inviting him on the holy occasion and loved his presence in the beautiful scenic atmosphere of the school. Every programme begins with a prayer, so brother Praveen lead the prayer service. Father Manoj then read out a passage from chapter St. Mathews depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. As a mark of respect and a token of affection Vice Principal (Admn) Mrs.Veena Venugopal.

On the stage the Christmas tree was manifested in its glory. Live sheep was hired to enhance the spirit of Christmas. The shepherds also became a part and parcel of the stage programme. The hut and the manger added the natural look that was required for the skit.

Students of class VIII A&B sang carols as a part of the skit that depicted the birth of Jesus Christ. While the David’s star shined high above, the stage came alive. The audience sat enthralled, while they were transported to an era back in time, the time when Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Students of Class 8 A&B have given it a great performance on the stage. Father Manoj was very pleased; he appreciated their creativity and effort.

This skit was followed by another extempore motivational show put up by class IX IG. The action oriented skit was all about how goodness still prevails in the society and how the Abhyasites are part and parcel of goodness. The programme ended with more carols, as the students looked up at the David’s star and felt the spirit of Christmas. Thanks to Team Abhyasa who made this Christmas a memorable one.

All ends well with divine grace. Merry Christmas!

    • In one of the sessions, they brought telescopes and divided us into several groups and we saw the moon and its craters.
    • We did an experiment that showed us that, our shadow moves almost every second and it moves about a micron or 2 microns per second, but every 5 minutes we see the shadow move almost a centimeter.
    • We even used the Sundial for knowing the time.
    • We learnt about the Earth, Sun, Moon as a trio
Very Happy New Year 2012
  • The Principal of Abhyasa Residential School, Mr. Vinaayaka Kalleetla bid farewell to the year 2011 in his speech. He spoke on the superstitions revolving around the Mayan tribe beliefs and the much talked, decisive 12.12.12. He also mentioned that the world at large has already started celebrating the New Year at different time zones. The well decorated stage show cased cultural programmes by Middle and High school students. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the assortment of programs that included dances, skit and a fashion show.

The countdown was there to remind before celebrations begin for the New Year; to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by; to remember both our triumphs and learnings, our promises made and met; the times we opened ourselves up to great adventures. New Year is all about – getting another chance, a chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more and above all to stop worrying about what if and start embracing what would be.

Students welcomed the New Year in a traditional style. Exactly at 11.45 pm, packed to the hilt, Priyanka’s Play-Pen observed silence and waited patiently.

“Like a candle lit at a neighboring flame, one should burn with a steady and separate light” said Vinoba Bhave, the great freedom fighter. Candles symbolize life, goodness and purity; hence as per the tradition of the school, the students lit their candles and awaited the arrival of the New Year 2012. The hall glowed in candle light as the dome of silence enveloped the parting year.

Meanwhile the senior students read the scriptures of different religions; especially chapters from the holy Quran, the holy Bible and the holy Bhagavad-Gita. This was followed by a prayer service for World Peace by the Vice Principal (Admn). She then greeted the New Year warmly by cutting the beautifully decorated three tire cake. Three camp fires steadily burning in the Amphi Theatre stood as the witness for another unique celebration of the event. Children circled around the camp fire and hummed their favorite tunes.

After the sharing of the cake, the atmosphere went ga – ga -over the tune of blaring music and the rhythm of dancing feet.

THE HEMANT UTSAV - 2012
  • “When there is righteousness in the heart then there is harmony at home. When there is harmony at home, then only there is peace in the society. When there is peace in the society there is order all over the nation. That is important, the righteousness of every heart, of every individual.” said, ‘Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba’. This was was explained by the Director / Founder Principal, Mr.Vinaayaka Kalleetla, in his homage to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba during the Hemanth Utsav 2012.

The school celebrated the much awaited Hemanth Utsav at the famous venue Shilpaka Vedika, High tech city, Hyderabad, in a traditional way that befits the splendor of the Makar Sankranti festival.

The strength behind our success is unity. Team Abhyasa pools its resources and moves ahead despite hurdles. Like a beacon, the Director / Founder Principal of the school guides the team with effective planning and training. The various in-charges, the teachers, the students and the admin staff worked patiently during practice sessions and the umpteen number of rehearsals.

On 14th January 2012, the day of the event, the whole school started early at 7 am and reached the venue, Shilpakala Vedika around 9.30 am. The Kitchen staff supplied every one packed breakfast cases, which was very convenient to carry. They also collected the used bags and disposed them appropriately, thus avoiding litter on the roads. A run through session was conducted to make the students get acclimatized to their show in the evening. After a decent lunch, all the students went on for appropriate make up as per their character.

The Chief Guests, Guests of Honor, Founders and The Board of Governors were welcomed and seated with due respect and they were received with traditional Nadaswaram.. Mr. Prabhakar welcomed everyone in his welcome speech.

As per tradition, the event started with the Vedic Chanting followed by the lighting of the lamp. The Director / Founder-Principal, Mr. Vinaayaka Kalleetla escorted the chief guest Mr. Kodi Ramakrishna and the dignitaries Mr. Rangadas, Mrs. Padmavati, Mr. C.V. Anand, Mrs. Umarama Rao, Mr. Prabhakar, Mrs Jamuna, Mr. Pattbhiram, and Mr. Neeladri Rao to light the lamp and declared the Hemanth Uthsav celebrations open!

After lighting the lamp, the Director and Founder-Principal paid homage to Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba. As a tribute to his services, himself a devotee of the Baba, the Director / Founder Principal Vinaayaka Kalleetla introduced free education in the school for class 1, for 14 beneficiaries. The new little students chanted Saraswathi Vandana and a sloka on good character and thus amazed the audience and proved that Abhyasa’s actions speak louder than words.

During Makar Sankranthi , as a part of our tradition, every Hindu house hold decorates a corner of the house with dolls of Gods and Goddesses. The audience got a spectacular surprise when they saw live statues of Gods and Goddesses standing as a back drop, in the rear end of the stage. Surprisingly enough their conversation became a link for the dances and the skits. These Demi Gods of Dwapar Yugh and Treta Yugh were astonished to see the degradation of human values, which were depicted through various skits. Like a movie the program continued holding the audience glued to their seats for a long three and a half hour session.

Dressed in the most traditional and colorful attire, girls of classes IV to VII performed the invocation dance. The spectacular show won the hearts of the audience with its unique grace and melody. The song which praises Goddess Sree Raja Rajeswari enthralled the audiences as the kids of classes 4 to 7 did their best in Bharata Natyam. It was a stunning performance by the kids with great perfection and discipline.

This was followed by the Hindi play – Kutte ki dhum tedi ki tedi, which was a comedy that depicted the lethargy of beggars. An Idle Mind is a devil’s workshop was the theme of the play. In a comical way, the students show cased the mentality of beggars; the need of the hour for them is reformation for better thinking.

The Telugu play – Kuti Kosam Koti Vidyalu showed the various immoral methods adopted by certain human beings in order to survive and make money which was a full length comedy and the audience could not resist clapping!

Later, the floor was open for the medal presentations to ICSE and ISC toppers of the academic year 2010-2011. The Chief Patrons Sri Rangadas Kalletla and Smt. Padmavathi Kalletla have instituted Excellence in Academics medals to overall toppers at the ICSE and ISC Exams and also to the Girl Topper at the ICSE and ISC Examinations, in memory of their parents. Even other medals which were instituted by Mrs.Murthy, the In-Charge Principal and others were given to the students who excelled in their academics. As a tribute to the Divine Master Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba, the school released the first volume of Akshaya News letter for the academic year 2011. This was followed by a speech by Mr. Jonnavithula Rama Lingeswara Rao – a famous film lyric writer and Smt. Uma Rama Rao, the veteran dance guru. Both of them praised the Abhyasites for their uniqueness and the way students are groomed on the campus.

The multi lingual play, Agar Anna… is a play that circles around contemporary issues. It is a play inspired from the real life happenings in the recent past in which veteran Gandhian and anti- corruption crusader; Anna Hazare has captured the attention of Indians across the globe over the issue of the Lokpal Bill. Hazare, a Gandhian by belief, outlook and practice has become the face of India’s fight against corruption and his fast can be described as the first real ‘Social Networking Movement’ in India. But is it enough – “Is one Anna Hazare sufficient to take on the giant of corruption? Will India ever be corruption free? The play raises such relevant questions and more?” which have been haunting the minds of all the Indians and Agar Anna stood as an answer for all these questions. The drama talked about the corruption that happens in each and every home, at every place and with every individual. It ends with a note that until and unless the individual changes nothing can happen to remove corruption at any level. The audience could not resist clapping after the drama got over for the excellent performance of the students.

The hall reverberated with the nostalgic song Vande Mataram and pulled the heart strings of each and every one present while the high school students moved in rhythm to the tune. The performers were attired in the national flag colors. The spectacular tri color of the Indian flag waved on through various formations. It was a grand treat to the eyes and the music was a melody to the ears.

The Chief Guest Sri Kodi Ramakrishna and Guest of Honour Sri C.V. Anand were moved by the performance of the students. The Chief Guest in his address mentioned his happiness and appreciated the staff and students of Abhyasa for putting up such a spectacular show. He praised Mr. Vinayak’s ideology and thanked him for keeping the traditions alive through Abhyasa. He also praised the versatility of Mr. Vinayak and looked forward to his excellence as an upcoming director.

All the teachers who had worked hard for the event were felicitated on the dais. The Principal congratulated the students, teachers and the School Administration Team for executing the event meticulously and making it a grand success.

Thanks to all the stakeholders who made the event a grand success. The Hemanth Utsav once again proved that the Team Abhyasa always works relentlessly in creating individuals who work in harmony towards excellence.
