One interesting fact is that the word "Bonalu" is derived from the Telugu word "Bhojanalu," which means "meal" or "feast". A special meal was prepared and offered to the goddess Pochamma as a sign of respect and devotion. The highlight of the Bonalu festival was the procession, which was led by the students and accompanied by drum beats and dance performance. The procession marked its way to the temple, where special prayers and offerings were made to the Goddess Pochamma Temple under the Banyan Tree.
