Annual Adieu to Lord Ganesha
The campus echoed with the slogans "Ganapathi Bappa Moriya…. Aadha Laddu Khaliya….".. It was a festive occasion at Abhyasa on 31.08.2009 where the little ones cheered for the Lord and gave him a pleasant adieu for the year. It all started on 23.08.2009 – on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, when a group of selected students from each class sat to turn a lump of mud into sacred form of Lord Ganesha. By the end of the day there were 7 idols each in different poses and sizes, which filled the dais in the prayer hall on the campus. This is the practice taken up by Abhyasites for years together to save the environment from becoming a dump of plaster of paris Ganeshas. On the same day pooja was performed to all those idols amidst the chanting of Ganesh Gayatri apart from Abhishekam. Since then for a period of 9 days daily pooja was performed and it was on Monday, the 31st August 2009 – time had come to bid adieu to those eco friendly Ganeshas.
After a long Hom performed for Lord Ganesha, the stage was set for the immersion. Energy emanated enthusiasm ounted to its peaks and the devout Abhyasites started for the event of Lord Ganesha's farewell for the year.
Amidst the holy Vedic chanting, Bhajans, slogans and drum beats all the Ganesha idols, safely and majestically, placed on the palanquins, were lifted off. We are sure, that Lord Ganesha enjoyed the ride on the shoulders of the students who became servants of the Lord Himself. The procession was led by 5 Human Ganeshas blessing all the passers by, followed by the groups of students religiously involved in Vedic Chanting, Bhajans. Slogan shouting, dancing, distributing prasadam etc.,
The procession reached the Toopran Lake by about 6.30 p.m and as the Sun sets the idols of Lord Ganesha were immersed amidst the chantings, " Ganapathi Bappa Moraya…. Pudchya Varshi Lavkar Yaa..", " Ek Laddu phutla, Ganapati Bappa Uthala…"
