Abhyasa celebrated Guru Purnima in the school prayer hall on Saturday, 12th July 2014. Guru Purnima is an auspicious occasion celebrated to pay respect to the Guru of all Gurus, Ved Vyasa. Mr. Vinaayaka Kalleetla, Director and Founder Principal of Abhyasa graced the occasion with his presence.

The festivity began in the early morning hours when students and staff assembled in front of Vishnu Temple for Nagarsankirthana. The students and staff went round the campus singing bhajans and devotional songs. The evening session began at 6.30pm with bhajans along with the chanting of Gurustotrams and other stotrams.

Throwing light on the relevance of the festival, Vihasith Reddy of Grade X said that it was on this day that Narad had preached Vyas on 'Chatusloki Bhagwat' after which Vyas started regarding Narad as his Guru. It is due to the same reason that the day is also celebrated as Vyas Purnima or Guru Purnima.

The programme was attended by all students and staff. They offered flowers at the feet of their Gurus. It is an annual event held every year in the school to make the students aware of the importance of Guru in their life.
