The evening of 27th December 2009 was even more colourful for the family members of Abhyasa where the students put up a spectacular performance in the ‘Magic of the Mirror’ play staged as part of its 14th Annual Cultural Nite ‘Hemant Utsav’ Sri Sathya Sai Nigamagamam on Sunday the 27th December 2009. All the students, along with families and friends attended the programme which was a big hit.

Chief Guest Prof. D. Narasimha Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Mr. M. Murali Mohan, Film Star and President ‐MAA (Movie Artists Association); Actress Jamuna and others graced the occasion. On this occasion, meritorious students and achievers of 10th and 12th Class were awarded Gold Medals both subject wise and overall performance wise. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vinaayaka Kalleetla, Founder Principal ‐Abhyasa Residential School said that "unlike other schools where kids dance to filmi music, we always organise programs that are original and bring out the creativity and originality in the students ".

The multilingual one‐and‐a‐half hour play titled ‘Magic of the Mirror’ was an assortment of five stories taking place in different locations of the country and abroad, depicting the futility of a pretentious life that depends on approval and appreciation of others. The five stories viz., Story of Ramky (in English), The Necklace (in Hindi), Sonu & Minu (in English), Dongatakam (Hide and Seek ‐Telugu Drama), ‘The Gift of the Magi’ (in English) saw students act, sing and dance. Classical Dance, Burrakatha, Qawwali, Magic tricks, etc. were interspersed into the story. Prof.D.Narasimha Reddy said the students should behave responsibly and turn to be better individuals to change the fate of the the country. Film star Mr. Murali Mohan commenting on the program said that the children displayed excellent time sense and acting skills in beautiful get‐ups. He also applauded Abhyasa for conducting social service activities. All the teachers who have put in best efforts to make the programme a successful event were felicitated by Mr.Murali Mohan.
