SPORTS MEET 2010 - 2011
It is said that Sport strips away personality, letting the white bone of character shine through thus giving players an opportunity to know and test themselves. This is precisely the reason for Abhyasa to include Sports as an integral part of the curriculum. As Abhyasa is committed to All Round Personality Development, Sports and Games are always given an equal priority and a good amount of time is being spent by the students.
The opening and closing ceremony of the Annual Sports Meet at Abhyasa, is always one of the most looked- forward - to events. During these days, one can get to identify talented students, who in turn, find a berth in the school team. Abhyasa conducts a sports meet to enhance the skills and quality of the student's personality. The atmosphere was filled with sportsmanship and competitive spirit. The Priyanka's play field stood as witness for the joy and fun- filled environment on 13th, 14th and 15th of January, 2011.
Founder Principal Mr. Vinayak declared open the 15th Annual Sports Meet on13th January, which was conducted in a colourful manner. Speaking on the occasion, he asked the students participate wholeheartedly and also asked them to discover their personality traits.
30th December was the day of closing ceremony for the sports meet. Mr.V.Dinesh Reddy, IPS, was the chief guest for the event. Dr.Prabhakar Rao, Chairman of the Board of Governors, addressed the gathering and appreciated the commitment of Abhyasa in shaping the children for the future.
The welcome dance from the land of Lambadas, March Past and the Mass Drill with colourful pompons made indigenously by the students of Abhyasa, left the audience spell bound. Games were conducted even for parents and winners were acknowledged. The 100 x 4 relay was an exciting one to watch. Students were at their best in competing with each other. Mr.Dinesh Reddy appreciated the Principal for nurturing such an institution which has been a showing a great commitment. All the medal winners at inter-school and intra- school events were honoured and acknowledged.
Abhyasa always believes that the Sports Meet is a ritual designed to maintain the ideology and values of a competitive and hierarchical culture of Personality Development. After all, Champions aren't made in the gyms. They are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, and a vision. Abhyasa just facilitates them in becoming one.
