Summer Excursion 2016
Year on year we have been taking our students for Summer Excursion to different location throughout the country. This year it was Uttarakhand as our camp destination. We decided to visit the queen of hills Nainital which is surrounded by Nine lakes. The pristine beauty of the place and surrounding areas which are full of jungles, our students really were happy to have an opportunity to stay close to nature.
The Resort in Nainital: Temperature was also cool as compared to Delhi. We went for a trek to a nearby place which is famous for Bird watching (Pangot).
The trekking on mountains at Pangot: We had nice Darshans at Naina Devi Temple which is one of the Shaktipeeths. We had a nice boating experience in Nainital lake.
It was beautiful as we started in the early hours. Walking up on the mountains was little stressful for the students but when we reached the peak of the mountain everyone was spellbound by the beauty.
We also visited the Nainital Zoo: After Three days in Nainital we started our journey to Jim Corbett National Park where we had booked a Safari in the jungle. Enroute we visited Jim Corbett Museum and students purchased many souvenirs from the little shop in the museum. We visited Corbett waterfalls where students enjoyed in the water for some time. In Corbett we checked in a eco friendly resort named Hornbill adventure resort. Students were accommodated in Tents as well as Mud houses. It was in the middle of Jungle and while going we could see a glimpse of wildlife.
Everyone enjoyed the activities at the resort and nest day morning all went for Nature walk in the nearby Jungle where students clicked pictures of birds and animals. Our safari was booked in the afternoon from 3 to 6 PM. We were one of the lucky few who could watch a Tiger in its natural environment. It was such a thrilling moment as everyone watched this majestic animal move freely. Everyone enjoyed the safari and then we moved to our camp and had sumptuous dinner. The next morning we moved to Haridwar. We reached there in the evening and immediately proceeded for Ganga Harathi. The entire area was filled with people and fortunately our students got to sit in a place from where they could watch the Harathi.
It was mesmerizing to see the Harathi live. After that all students took a dip in the holy Ganges in the place called Har Ki Paudi. And then we returned to our Ashram. Next day we went to Rushikesh where we did River rafting in Ganges. The flow of water was medium and it was safe to do rafting. We chose the small session which was 9 Kms and it was completely safe.
Our students had a chance to take a dip in the middle where the flow of water was minimum and all students dived in the water.
After rafting we spent some time in Rushikesh and students did some shopping on the banks of Ganga and visited Ram Jhula which is a famous monument in Rushikesh. After we finished we came back to Haridwar and spent some time in the local market.
Next day morning we started for Delhi and reached by 5:30 in Delhi. After that we had some free time all students went to Palika Bazaar which is a famous shopping market in Delhi. We spent around 2 hours in the market and then proceeded to our railway station to Board the train for Hyderabad. All went well and students had lots of adventure as well memorable events, which will be remembered for years to come.
