Toopran Mandal Youth Games 2018-19
A few days after the extravagant Sports Day celebrations on campus, Abhyasa organized another major sporting event, the "Toopran Mandal Youth Games 2018-19," on the 21st and 22nd of the month. The event was held on the occasion of the 92nd birth anniversary of Sri Satya Sai Baba. Priyanka's Playground was fully prepared to host students from various schools across Toopran Mandal, encouraging them to participate in a spirit of unity and sportsmanship.
Priyanka's Playground regained its vibrant sporting atmosphere through the dedicated efforts of the Class XI students. They took full initiative and responsibility for organizing and conducting the Toopran Mandal Youth Games 2018-19. The students completely renovated the volleyball and Kho-Kho courts in preparation for the competitions.
On the first day, students from different schools arrived for the opening ceremony. The Sub-Inspector of Police, Mr. Subash, was invited as the Chief Guest and was ceremonially escorted by student managers from the front office to the playground. Students representing each school participated in an Olympic torch run around the ground, carrying the flame with great enthusiasm.
After the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the Chief Guest was felicitated. The games were officially inaugurated when he played the first volleyball serve. Several schools competed in various sporting events organized by the Class XI students.
The participants displayed remarkable sportsmanship throughout the day. The competitions on the first day were exclusively for girls. Class XI students served as referees and scorers, ensuring fair play. Simultaneously, other events such as the 100-meter race and Kho-Kho matches were conducted. Girls from ten different schools and colleges took part in these events.
On the following day, 22nd November 2018, competitions were held for boys from schools in Toopran Mandal as well as youth participants. In total, students from 14 different schools and members from 12 youth clubs participated. Lunch and refreshments were provided for players, coaches, and school authorities. The games concluded at 3:30 PM.
For the closing ceremony and prize distribution, the MPP of Toopran, Sri Gummadi Srinivas Garu, attended as the Chief Guest. Along with the School Registrar Mr. B. Vijay Kumar and the Dean of Academics Mr. P. V. Seshu Babu, he presented medals, trophies, and certificates to the winners.
In his address, the Chief Guest praised Abhyasa's contribution to the development of Toopran Mandal and expressed gratitude to the management. He delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of encouraging girls' participation in sports and motivating all players to pursue excellence.
Lunch and refreshments were arranged for players, coaches, and school authorities during the closing ceremony. All participants and participating institutions were awarded certificates of participation in recognition of their involvement and efforts.
