70th Independence Day Celebrations
Independence Day, which is observed annually on the 15th of August, is a national holiday commemorating the nation's independence from British rule. Thus it was on the 15th of August, 1947 when India finally set herself free and declared herself as a sovereign country. From then onwards this day hold a special significance in every Indian's life. On this day every corner of India adorns herself with tricolors and parades. Special national programs and gatherings are also observed.
The 70th Independence Day was celebrated with gaiety and splendor at Abhyasa. The flag hoisting ceremony was conducted in Amphitheatre. Mr. Sai Kumar, COO of the school was the Chief Guest for the day and hoisted the Tricolor at 08.30 A.M. The entire school later witnessed the students marching in rhythm with perfect unison and coordination on the drum beats and saluted the Tricolor. Mr. U. Srinivasa Murthy, Principal, Mrs. Anuradha Atkuri, Vice Principal and Mr. Vijay Kumar, Registrar were also present during the program.
As a part of the Independence Day celebrations, the social studies department conducted various competitions which included quiz, essay writing, collage making, patriotic songs, dances, fancy dress etc. for school children of different age groups. The winners were awarded with prizes. The Competitions were conducted by Mr. V.P.Raveendran, History Teacher.
Sweet distributions were arranged outside of the Amphi Theatre. Students and teachers enjoyed the program very much. It was a day for all of us to re-dedicate our commitment towards our nation.
