Parents Picnic & Commerce Fest 2014
Abhyasa organized Parents Picnic and Commerce Fest on 7th December 2014 at a place 5kms away from the school. A special site was chosen for the picnic where all the Parents, Students and Staff came together as a huge family and had a day full of activities and fun.
Students of Grade IX and XI planned the event weeks before and were ably supported by Grade XII and X respectively. The Grade IX students named their company as 'Spartans' whereas the Grade XI students called themselves as 'Warriors'. In this commerce activity they contributed money, bargained with dealers and distributors and bought goods at a discounted rate and sold them at a slight margin. The items on sale ranged from eatables to clothes, from toys to modern games to electronic gadgets, ice-creams, Pizzas and Burgers, fashion accessories etc. and arranged many entertaining programs as well. The profits earned are then used for Social activities as Gram Seva, etc.
Close by in another tent entertainment programs for the parents were arranged by the school staff. Lot of games and quiz were arranged to keep the parents entertained. Parents were invited to showcase their talents in dance, music and others. Lot of parents voluntarily came forward and participated in the activities and displayed their sportsman spirit. Winners were awarded with prizes.
A sumptuous lunch was organized by Abhyasa for the parents. Then our Director and Founder Principal Mr. Vinaayaka Kalleetla addressed the gathering in which he spoke about the International School Award which was awarded to our school by the British Council on 4th December 2014 at New Delhi. The teachers associated with the projects for the International School Award were also felicitated by certificates on this day. The parents have also been addressed by Mr. Dinkar Kadam.
After the presentation, Snacks were served and it was the time to bid farewell. In all everyone enjoyed the picnic and many parents thanked for the thoughtfulness of arranging such activities wherein they could spend some quality time with their children in such beautiful surroundings away from daily hustle and bustle of life.
