Field Trip for Grade IV, V of Abhyasa & Grade I of Aalingana - 2019
Places Visited: Nehru Zoological Park & Salar Jung Museum
The children of the main school, along with their counterparts of the primary School started from the campus at 8. 15 A. M., Their great enthusiasm continued until they reached Nehru Zoological Park after an hour of bus drive. All the children were excited to enter the park at the earliest. After purchasing the entry tickets, they all got inside the park. The children were assembled inside an auditorium near the gate and were shown a ideos pertaining to the history of the park- its inception, the total area, and the information about the species and subspecies of animals housed there. The zones into which the park is divided and the route to reach these zones, with their entry and exit points were also shown in the video. Thevideos aroused the eagerness of the children in actually seeing the animals.
To start with, the children were taken to the aquarium, wherein different varieties of fish were kept. A giant tortoise [Galapagos Giant Tortoise Chelonoidis nigra complex]s Giant Tortoise] was visited before moving to the Primates section. Various types of monkeys and apes- a dozen species and subspecies were kept in cages there. A few of them include Macaca Mulatta, Pigtailed Macaque [Macaque Linonina] etc.
The children also saw many other animals which they can see only ion pictures or Television. After this children proceed to the Salar Jung Museum.
The Salar Jung Museum is an art museum locates dat Dar- ul- Shifa on the southern bank of the Musi River in the city of Hyderabad. It is one of the three national museums of india.This is one of the largest museums in the world, originally belonging to the salar Jung Family, housed only the private collections of the family. It was endowed to the nation after the death of Salar Jung III and inaugurated on 16th December 1951.
The children enjoyed looking at the collection of scriptures, paintings, textiles, ceramics, carvings, textiles, manuscripts, clocks and furniture from Japan, China, Burma, Nepal, India, Persia, Egypt , Europe, and North America.
Children saw many things and learnt about them, which would not have been possible but for this trip.
