Gandhi Jayanti 2018
Mahatma Gandhi (October 2, 1869 to January 30, 1948) was the leader of India's non-violent independence movement against British rule and in South Africa who advocated for the civil rights of Indians. Born in Porbandar, India, Gandhi studied law and organized boycotts against British institutions in peaceful forms of civil disobedience. He was killed by a fanatic in 1948.
Today Abhyasa was involved with a full spirit of patriotism and respect to the Mahatma and celebrated the Gandhi Jayanti. The students were enlightened with a brief history and sacrifices of the father of our nation in the assembly and paid tributes to Gandhiji.
The dean of academics Mr. SeshuBabu had taken keen interest and told the students the importance and the major events happened in the Mahatma's life and how he had fought for the freedom of our nation.
Later in the afternoon, the Rural Service Management had taken an initiative on this day and as part of the Swachtha Hi Seva Programme and gone out of the campus to the Gandhi chowk and conducted a clean drive at the arena, cleaned the statue and garlanded Bapuji's statue and sung the devotional Raghupathi Raghav Raja Ram to mark his 149th Birth anniversary. The students of Class 9 had taken an active part in this programme and involved in this social activity and paid tributes respecting the father of our nation.
