The Champions Workshop
WEDNESDAY, the 27th November 2019 witnessed a visually-challenged person brightening the spirits and awakening the minds of nearly 200 young men and women. Mr. Syed Noor Mohammed Shakir, the head of Empire Training Solutions conducted a day-long workshop for the senior students of Abhyasa International School, which started with a mind-blowing memory game, in which he could remember the names of 30 objects suggested by students. He could tell the name of the object when the number was given to him and vice versa. He could also tell the name of the next object when the previous one was told or the previous one when the next name was given, the name of the middle object when the two on either side were given and so on. He concluded the game with the statement – ‘when something is possible for someone, it is possible for every one'.
Mr. Shakir continued the sessions with such assertive statements which he wanted all the students to copy down. The sessions were dotted with games and videos to support the content of the sessions. He gave the students some techniques to develop burning desire, which is the single most important quality an individual must possess in order to succeed, techniques for improving memory, which he demonstrated for remembering the elements in Chemistry, techniques for goal setting and time management. The most important thing the children have to develop in order to succeed is to give themselves positive auto suggestions. Mr. Shakir also showed them a format for ‘Planning for Tomorrow', which he insisted every student to follow without fail. During the course of the session, Mr. Shakir emphasized the importance of reading books and stated that he himself has read more than 300 books on self improvement and gave a list of books which must be read by every one. The list included a book authored by him.
The children enjoyed the session, which was interesting, inspiring and invigorating to such an extent that Mr. Shakir succeeded in keeping the students pinned to their seats for about six hours with short intervals for tea and lunch. The Champions Workshop
